Canadian Immigration: The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program




In order to attract more work- ready immigrants to the Alberta area of Canada, The government of Alberta have set up the AINP (Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program)

The government of Alberta can nominate an individual, along with their spouse or partner, and any dependent children, who can apply for a permanent residence visa through the Government of Canada’s Citizen and Immigration Canada program (CIC)

The application process and eligibility criteria for the AINP can be different depending on which category you are in. A list of categories is as per the below

Canadian Immigration
·         Skilled worker or semi-skilled worker in a key in-demand occupation in Alberta
If you are a foreign worker and have been working full-time in a key, in-demand occupation in Alberta
·         Skilled worker or Alberta employer
If you are a foreign worker and have a permanent full time job offer from an Alberta employer in a skilled occupation
Or
You are an Alberta employer and want to retain a foreign skilled worker on a permanent full-time basis
·         International graduate or Alberta employer
You are a recent graduate from a post-secondary Canadian institution and have a full time, permanent job offer from an Alberta employer
Or
You are an Alberta employer and want to retain a foreign recent graduate on a full time permanent basis
·         Semi-skilled worker or Alberta employer
You are a foreign worker and have a permanent full time employment offer from an Alberta employer in one of the eligible semi skilled categories
Or
You are an Alberta employer who wishes to retain a foreign worker on a full time permanent basis in one of the eligible semi-skilled categories.
·         Tradesperson
If you are a foreign tradesperson with an Alberta Qualification Certificate (AQC) in a compulsory or optional trade.
·         Engineer
You are an engineer, drafter or designer with Alberta experience
·         Farmer
·         You are a foreign farmer who wishes to come to Alberta in order to establish or purchase a farming business.
